This will also be of the conflict (of course for those who read this because they know me)
This time another group will have my attention, and yet again I will try to find a link to put at the end if you want to read more.
In a prison called Castlereagh in the year of 1981 ten men initiated a hungerstrike in protest of several conditions that they could not accept. Among those reasons:
* "Security forces" deployed to Northern Ireland who killed people later proven innocent were set free with the explanation that it was a war, and killing in war is not a crime. However the Irish who were found to retaliate were treated as a criminal. So obviously according to the brittish goverment it was a war with rules of engagement only affecting one side. Therefore Bobby Sands (see below) and the other of the strike wanted acknowledgment as prisoners of war.
* Several prisoners were proven to have been interminated (soory if I miss-spelled that one) only on the proof of their guilt breing that they confessed. Wich everyone knew was done because the brittish troopers tortured them until the point of confession. At least ten men were later freed (to be known as the Birmingham 6 and Guildfor 4) by Tony Blair (see, I admit when I consider the brits to do something good as well ;))
* While under internment several Irishmen have been proven to have been tortured...
(remember now, this is just over 20 years ago, not ancient past...)
These were the reasons for the ten brave men to instigate a hungerstrike that lasted untill death. Several world leaders have been known to have visited Castlereagh and trying to talk to the brittish govement. This however turned out to be fuitile attempts, as the criminals opposed brittish supremacy in a foreign contry they deserved but the cruelest of fates...
The names on this men, along with their time of death (all 1981) and days on hungerstrike...

Welcome to my Blog
Now I finally got around to doing this Blog.
I will warn everyone that it will be a very political blog.
And any English, you might wish to stop reading right about now since I have a feeling a lot will have to do with the conflict in Ireland nd later on northern Ireland. One conflict you lost and one I truly hope you will loose. I would however like to point out that I do not have anything against English reading the blog nor in any other way. I wish you well in anything you do as people and as a contry, as long as it is done with honour and justice. But I am fully convinced that the Engslish troop-precence in N.I is none of those.
The name of my blog (Scóp) is the Irish Gaelic word from freedom.
Now for my first post I would like to shed some light on a subject that has been lied about, ignored and in some parts forgotten.
January 30, 1972 in the town of Derry there was a peaceful march against internment.
The simple story (easiest to keep it simple) is that the english goverment had a rule saying Irish could be put in prison without trial.
This peaceful protest march was nterupted by the 1'st paratrooper regiment who fired randomly into a crowd. Killing 13 people, and another died later due to wounds recived on that day.
